With the Jira pack, you can sync your Jira issues into a Coda table, keeping your doc up-to-date with the latest changes in Jira. If you haven't yet installed or connected to the Jira Pack, you can learn more here.
However, you might not want to sync all of your Jira issues into Coda. In fact, many teams have thousands of issues across all their Jira projects, most of which are archived or not relevant to your Coda doc. There are some built-in ways to filter which issues you sync in, but you also have the more advanced option of using JQL (Jira Query Language), which is a powerful and flexible way to search for your issues in Jira.

Let's walk through the steps of how to add a JQL query to your Jira pack table in Coda.
Step 1: Write the JQL query in Jira
Navigate to your Jira account. Then, click on Issues and filters on the left sidebar. Select Search issues.
At the top of the page, select Switch to JQL.
Write your JQL query in the search box. For help writing your query, check out this helpful resource.
The results of this search are the issues that will be synced into your Coda doc.
Step 2: Copy the JQL query into Coda
Select the entire JQL query from the search box in Jira. Then copy and paste the text into Coda.
Your query will look something like this when you paste it into Coda:
Note: If you use the JQL sync option, make sure you delete the other sync options like project name or assignee. You cannot combine JQL queries with other sync options.
Click sync now to finish the sync.
That's it! You can now leverage SQL to create powerful queries in the Jira pack.
