Available sign-in options
As an Enterprise org admin, you can manage how members of your organization authenticate and log in to Coda. You can select one or more of the authentication options offered by Coda for members of your organization.
Coda offers the following options for authentication:
Google: Members can sign in to Coda using their Google account, and authentication is delegated to Google via the industry-standard OAuth2 protocol.
Microsoft: Members can sign in to Coda using their Microsoft account, and authentication is delegated to Microsoft.
Apple: Members can sign in to Coda using their Apple ID. Users can either use their real email address, or hide it and instead use a generated private address.
Email and password: Members can sign in with their email and password.
Magic links: Members can sign in passwordless using a link that’s sent to their email. Once members get a Magic link to sign in, they can choose to either create a password in their account settings or continue signing in with Magic links.
SSO (Enterprise-only): Members in an Enterprise workspace can sign in using the organization’s IDP.
Manage sign-in options for org members
To manage and allow specific sign-in options for users in your organization, follow these steps:
Go to coda.io/docs
In the left panel, select Admin settings
Scroll to - or search for - the Authentication settings tab (Security > Authentication > Authentication settings)
Here you’ll see a list of sign-in options that can be used by members of your org. Toggle on or off these sign-in options as you see fit.
If you’re part of an Enterprise organization that uses SSO, it's common to disable other sign-in options to ensure consistent and secure authentication of org members. However, you can decide to keep one or more options based on your org’s security policies. Learn more about how to configure SSO here.
Set custom idle session timeout
As an Enterprise org admin, you also have the option to set a custom idle session timeout. With this feature, users will be automatically logged out after your chosen period of inactivity.
To adjust this setting, open the Admin settings. Then search for or navigate to the Authentication settings page (Security > Authentication > Authentication settings). At the bottom of this page, find the Idle session timeout section. Enter in your custom timeout limit (in days or hours), and click Save.
