A Pack is an extension that adds new powers to your doc. Packs work by supplementing the core building blocks of Coda, so you can customize how your doc looks, works, and integrates. We have Packs for many of the tools your team already uses - from Slack, to Jira, to Google Calendar and Gmail, to Salesforce. You can choose from Packs created by Coda or Packs created by makers just like you.

Put Packs to use
Once you install a Pack, there are four main ways you can use them in your doc: Pack sync tables, Pack buttons, Pack column formats, and Pack formulas. We’ve created dedicated articles for these uses, which you can find below:
💡Tip: Pack formulas are a more advanced way to utilize Packs. Once you have a Pack installed in your doc, just open the formula builder in your doc, and type the Pack name to see the available formulas.

Pack deprecation
With Coda’s Pack Platform, anyone can build a Pack and share it with others. It is possible that a Pack may not receive future updates, and in some cases, it may be deprecated and unavailable for use in your Coda doc. Deprecating a Pack would mean that the Pack Maker is removing it from Coda’s platform, or that the Pack no longer works as intended.
While Pack deprecation is rare, we do have a process in place to notify all users of the Pack. You can expect to receive emails from the Coda team with advanced notice of the upcoming deprecation. At that point, we recommend the following steps to ensure a smooth transition:
Find an alternative Pack to use. We have 600+ Packs in our ecosystem and are likely to have a comparable tool available.

Determine which docs will need to be updated to limit any disruptions in service past the deprecation date.
If you’re on our Enterprise tier, you can find this information in the Pack approvals tab of your Admin settings. Just search for the Pack, expand to see details, and find the number of docs (under “Your organization’s usage”). Click on this number to see a full list of docs.
If you have sync tables from this Pack in any of the identified docs, in the sync table pack options under the Advanced tab, you can toggle on Keep un-synced rows (learn more here). This will keep any current data in place even if the sync stops. It is still recommended to replace that table with a supported Pack.
