If you are managing a lot of Coda docs days to day, it's all too easy to get lost in your open tabs and in your bookmarks.

You can identify your docs by giving each doc it's own emoji icon, simply add an emoji the beginning of your doc's title. Your browser tab icon (the technical term is favicon) will update to feature your new emoji icon.

How do I type emoji?

Emoji can be inserted into a doc canvas using the emoji picker on the toolbar, shown below. Once your emoji is in the canvas, copy and paste it into the doc title.

You can also use your Operating System's text input features to insert emoji.

On Windows 10, you can open the emoji menu by typing either Win+;  or Win+.  (that's Windows–Semicolon or Windows–Period) depending on your system.

On macOS, you can open the emoji menu by typing ⌃⌘Space  (that's Control–Command–Space Bar)

Example emoji favicons

  • 🧠 - for company wikis'; the brain of the company
  • 🚀 - for launches of any kind (product features, into space, etc)
  • 📒 - for databases or docs keeping records
