Student and teacher discounts

We offer students and teachers a choice between two different discounts:

  • A free annual Coda Pro plan for one Doc Maker ($120 value) for as long as you are a student or teacher.

  • 80% off a Pro or Team plan with multiple Doc Makers.

  • We recommend this discount if you are the only doc maker in your workspace and do not plan on adding any other doc makers to your workspace.

💡 Unsure what a doc maker is? Check out this help article.

  • If you are already in a workspace with more than one doc maker, you will not be eligible for this discount. If you are unsure if there are other doc makers in your workspace, you can check for other workspace members using the steps in this help article.

  • If you have a workspace with multiple members, we encourage you to instead apply for 80% off a Pro or Team plan.

We currently offer 50% off any paid plan to qualifying nonprofits.

Who qualifies for a nonprofit discount?

Please provide documentation that certifies your organization's nonprofit status.

The following institutions are not eligible:

  • Affiliated hospitals, medical centers, and patient care facilities.

  • Educational institutions (applying as one entity) are ineligible. Please contact sales to discuss the best plan for your organization.

I received a free year of Pro. Why am I asked to add a card when upgrading?

We ask for all paid plans (even if discounted) to add a card on file in the event you add more doc makers or decide to upgrade to a plan not covered by the discount, and to ensure payment doesn’t lapse if the discount is later removed.

I received a discount. Why am I getting an error when trying to upgrade?

Usually, this happens if you received a free year of Pro and are either trying to pay monthly, trying to pay for a different plan, or are trying to upgrade when you have more than one doc maker. Double check that you have selected the Pro plan for one year, and do not have any other doc makers in your workspace. If you still need help, please reach out to support.

When will I hear back?

We aim to get through all applications as soon as we can, but it can take up to two weeks for us to review your application and respond.
