The design of the workspace home was in need of some cleanup. The left panel was busy and blended with the color of the doc list, making things feel cluttered and tough to navigate.

The new workspace home is cleaner, more organized, and more intuitive.

Previously, the page list was required to view and navigate the pages within your page hierarchy.

Navigating to workspace home required clicking the “< All docs” button. This button was often clicked by accident when attempting to navigate to the previous page.

We’ve added some handy features to make it easier to navigate within and out of your doc:

The page list was the same color as the doc page and required clicking on “Show pages” to open the page list.

We’ve given the page list a fresh new look that’s easier on the eyes. There’s new functionality and design, including:

Search bar spanned across the top of the doc at all times, even when page list was hidden. More steps were required to open the search modal.

The entry point for in-doc search, now located at the top of the page list, is more minimalistic and less distracting. The search icon will be out of sight when the page list is hidden, but can quickly be revealed on hover.

Additionally, using in-doc search will immediately open the more robust search modal, without any extra steps from you.

Notifications could be viewed via the bell icon in the upper-right corner of the doc, but managing notifications required navigating separately to the Notifications panel within doc settings.

Not only has the entry point for viewing notifications moved to the top left of the doc, but you can also easily access the management controls for notifications directly from this new entry point, in one click.

Previously, your avatar and account menu were located in the upper-right corner of your doc.

In an effort to keep your doc toolbar more focused, we've moved the account menu. Now, you’ll find your avatar and name at the bottom left of every doc, tucked into the page list. Click here to open the streamlined account menu.

Previously, there were two different menus for doc settings and actions: the three-dot menu next to the doc title, and the gear icon in the top-right corner of the doc.

Now, there’s a single entry point for all doc actions and settings, so you don’t have to remember what lives where. Simply click on the three-dot icon in the top-right corner to find a full list of options. To access doc settings - such as doc map, statistics, and regional settings - just select Doc settings at the bottom of the list.

The settings and actions for publishing and embedding were accessible only via the Share dialog.

Now, we’ve added a dedicated Share to the web panel for publish and embed. It can be accessed by clicking the new three-dot menu in the top right of your doc, selecting Doc settings, then opening the Share to the web page. Additionally, you can still access this panel via the Share dialog - just click on the globe icon.

Hovering over the top of the page would reveal several different entry points and quick actions.

Now, we’ve consolidated all page settings into one hover entry point Page options. Clicking on this will reveal a mini menu with for quick adjusting of common settings. And to open the full suite of page options, just select See all options from this menu.

Previously, tables had several different hover entry points, including Filter, Sort, Columns, and Options. Clicking any of these would open the table options panel.

We’ve consolidated all table options under one hover entry point: Options. Also, when you click on Options, you’ll see a mini menu for quick changes. You can still access the full table options panel by selecting See all options.
