Export your data from Asana

To get started, you will first need to export your data from Asana in the form of a CSV. Follow the steps below to complete this:

ℹ️ Note that you can only export one project at a time, each as a separate CSV file. If you need to import larger amounts of data, please contact Coda Support for assistance.

  1. Within Asana, select the project you wish to export

  2. At the top of the project page, select the chevron icon to the right of the project name

  3. From the list of options, hover over Sync/Export, then select Project tasks as CSV

  4. In the pop-up window, we suggest selecting All custom fields including multi-homed tasks

  5. Then select Export CSV to confirm

  6. Repeat the above process with any other projects you wish to export

Now that you’ve downloaded the necessary CSV files from Asana, the next step is to import these files into Coda. Continue to the next section to learn how.

FAQs

Can I export and import an entire Asana workspace at once?

At this time, you can only export one project at a time from Asana. Therefore, you will need to export each Asana project individually. You can then upload multiple CSV files at once via the importer in Coda.

If it is not feasible to export each project individually due to the quantity of data in Asana, our team may be able to help. Please contact Coda Support to learn more.

Can I sync my data between Asana and Coda, rather than importing it?

Yes, if you wish to simply view a version of your Asana data in Coda, you can use the Asana Pack. This Pack allows you to pull your Asana projects into your Coda docs for easy viewing. Learn more here.
